Just about every single day I see something on social media sites that really frustrates me (aside from the news, of course), and since it’s so pervasive, I felt that it should be addressed.
I can almost guarantee you that anyone who has ever tried to learn how to make money online has either seen this or has done this themselves (yes, I was guilty of this once as well). But in retrospect, it’s painful to see others do it while realizing how freaking easy it really is. What am I talking about? Saying things like this:
“I’m looking for a way to make money with NO sales and NO startup costs…”
Of course, this is usually followed up by dozens of people saying things like “it takes money to make money”, or even worse, “PM me for info about this company that I make $21,542 per week with!” What makes all of this infuriating is that because of this particular exchange, most people seem to end up with a couple of conclusions:
- Making money online doesn’t really work.
- Making money without sales doesn’t work.
- You can’t make money without spending money.
- Anything that doesn’t involve a boss, office, or paycheck is a scam.
To be fair, there are a lot of scam business offers on Facebook, Craigslist, etc. And sure, if you have money to invest in a company, you’ll generally end up with better results (or at least faster results), but that doesn’t mean you’ll succeed.
What if I told you that you can get the money to start up your home business without spending any money?
I bet you’d be skeptical. I would…especially if the only thing I had ever encountered was the shitstorm of bad offers, bad marketers, and bad thinking that make up a Work From Home group on any social media site. And you should be! But that’s where you need more information. It’s my job to give you that information, so let’s get into it.
How to Get Money for Your Startup
One of the big issues that I believe a lot of people have with trying to learn to make money from home is that they really don’t understand how to be resourceful and use things that they have access to in order to build income. There are literally thousands of ways to start making extra money, but some of them are so painfully obvious that it’s amazing that people can’t see them. Of course, there are also those people who DO see them, but write them off because they either think it’s a waste of time or because they have no clue what they are doing and are just too lazy to learn.
Warning: Easy Stuff.
Let’s say, just for the ease of the example, that you have a mild interest in joining a reputable work from home company, like Avon, but you don’t have the cash on hand to get started (processing fees, purchasing products). You’re already pretty strapped for cash, so cutting into your budget to start up a business isn’t something that you can (or should) do. This is the path that I would personally take to get the money for this.
Find a company that has a good reputation AND a referral program.
There are hundreds of small companies out there that will pay you to send people to them. Some of them can be sketchy, so definitely do some Google research and find one that works. My absolute favorite company to generate referrals for is Uber. That’s right. Uber has a referral program…and it doesn’t suck.
Referral Programs
I’m sure most of you knew that driving for Lyft or Uber is a great way to earn money on the side by driving people around in your car, but it’s also more than that. Once you’re active in the system, you can also refer new drivers and passengers to both companies. The referral rates vary depending on what city you are in, but they are pretty significant rates.
This is my referral dashboard in my Uber account. Note that this is only for TWO referrals.
You might be surprised how many other companies have referral bonuses. But the fact is that once you find one that works for you, all you have to do is keep promoting them until you have enough money to start up your project.
Yes, it’s really that easy. If you are a decent marketer, you can hit your cash goal pretty quickly and then get started working with a company that you prefer.
I can’t emphasize this enough: the money is out there, you just have to get it.
