The view from the coffee shop window…

I decided that I needed a day just to forget that I had anything to do. Mostly because of the lack of sleep that I got this past weekend after finding out that the vital organs of a friend of mine decided they were tired of working all of the time, so they decided to take some time off. And as we all know, life is a cruel boss, so the world told him and his organs to GTFO. And so, the world lost a good man. We just didn’t find out for two weeks. And when we did…it was just weird.

The crazy part is that he was only a couple of years older than I am. I’m only 33. That scares the living crap out of me. And so, here I am, exhausted from a lack of decent sleep, sitting at Sweet Eugene’s with a Chai latte and a piece of the most amazing New York style cheesecake you could ask for. In a way, I’m hiding from everything, sitting here using their wifi praying for a good rain to come and wash away all the things.

I feel like I can just sit here and not think. Although I do feel a little out of place with all of the college students and hipsters in this place. They are checking email, working on spreadsheets, and doing research. I’m downloading music and writing this blog post.

So, today my stress level is a bit higher than I’d like to admit. Once again, life has decided to keep me on my toes by saying “Hey, Wess, I’m a financial thing! I’m here to screw up all the things, now that you’ve got them almost in order! Woohoo!!!”. Yeah, kinda like that.

I need a freaking vacation. I really don’t know what I would do or where I would go, but for some strange reason I just want to go spend the winter months in Ruidoso or Albuquerque. Random, I know, since I’m kind of partial to my Texas. But I just want to feel free for a while. Just a little while.

But I’ll just take the rain…if it would just rain…
