PayPerPost Performs Blog Audit

Welcome back! Have you joined my mailing list yet?

I just got back from my run to New Mexico, and I really just wanted to check my email. I got a message from the crew over at PayPerPost that said one of my blogs (the original TSP blog, on wordpress.com) was rejected.

What? I've been using it for paid posting, in fact it's the place that I launched this blog from!

Ah well. I suppose it didn't meet their new criteria for being an 'actively updated' blog. I just hope they don't end up rejecting this one...heh. I would do more updating, but the new job keeps me busy.

Which is why I got on board with PayPerPost...to get a laptop so I can blog from more places than just my house! Maybe it will pay off soon.

Oh, this weekend I need to put together my quarterly earnings report...stay tuned!

Another side note: since Technical Difficulties #2, Ross Goldberg has contacted me, and it seems there was a misunderstanding that I will be clearing up very soon...probably in #3. Misinformation is the bane of many good things, and this time was no exception. Stick around!

What would Chad Vader do?

Something I have learned over the past few years is this: looking for a job is harder than actually doing the job in most cases.

I am, as of Monday, without a 'boss'.

Now, most of the blog wielding freelancers that I know of would be thrilled with this prospect, especially after spending years running on the proverbial corporate-hamster-wheel-of-doom. Not me. Why? Because, this wasn't one of those 'screw you, I'm workin' for me' deals. Basically, it's not good to be the one who has an example made of them. You know, driving an 18-wheeler through tight turns isn't quite as easy as you might think.

Granted, there really wasn't that much damage done to either the cattle guard or the trailer. Still, the company has had 5 incidents in the past month, and for a company with only about 10 trucks, that's a pretty high percentage of goof-ups. The boss was forced to change the company policy - which happened while I was off-duty, so naturally I didn't know about the change.

Fortunately, the boss is a fair, kind man who decided to call it a lay-off rather than a 'get out', so even though I was only with the company for two months, he is willing to give me a good reference, as well as some photos of rhinoplasty. Strange man, I'm not sure if he was trying to tell me that I needed a nose job, or if I just needed to get my nose worked on. Maybe I snored when I was at work. I wonder what I'd look like...

So that means that now we have to move. Meh. I hate moving, don't you?

Anyway, the last two jobs I've held have been no longer than three months. The first one just did not pay enough to justify staying there (and not enough to cover the bills), and this one, well, accidents happen. I don't know a single truck driver that hasn't damaged something. Big trucks + tight spaces = crunchy.

That's my long explanation why I haven't been working on this site much in the past few days. I'm hoping that something changes for the better soon. I've got plans for a couple of nice articles, but for now, I must focus on what is important.

Namely, that cold glass of tea sitting about two feet from me...

Site News: That Annoying URL, Plugins, and More

It's almost time for me to crash. I work nights, and it's just after 9 AM. It's bed time.

I have spent a little time this morning updating some of my plugins, changed the subtext of the header (which I'm sure you can see...and it's quite revealing about my taste in movies/humor), and even spoke with the support team over at Hostgator, who are awesomely helpful with any of my quite retarded questions.

Also, June is coming to an end rather quickly, so that means it's time to get my quarterly earnings report ready. Did I finally catch up to the super-affiliate status of Chow? Did I meet my $500 annual goal? Do you really want to know? Sure you do...you want to know how good (or bad) I'm doing with my blogging-for-money-rule-breaking style...

Stay tuned!
