Introducing SexySocialMedia.com
Welcome back! Have you joined my mailing list yet?
Anybody who knows anything about affiliate marketing, blogging, or getting attention for just attempting to be cool knows that social media is definitely the way to drive traffic and even draw in that ever-popular buck. For me, keeping up with social media news is kind of difficult (given my job). Fortunately, I've found a site that can help with all of that.
Welcome to the web, SexySocialMedia.com! Yes, it is safe for work.
Sexy Social Media is a blog that keeps up with news about, well, social media. While there are tons of blogs out there that do this, SSM seems to feature very well written articles on great topics (not just Twitter, like some sites).
What about that problem of not keeping up with the news like I should? Easy. I just grab their RSS feed and check it when I can. That way, I can read all of the latest articles (without having to click from one page of content to the next). Sure, it's lazy, but it works.
Anyway, forthe hottest social media news, check out SexySocialMedia.com!

Making Your Blog More Social With Twitter Tools
I've been playing around more and more with trying to make this blog more socially acceptable. OK, maybe I said that wrong...what I meant was that I needed to try to get this blog to make use of social networks.
For a while, I've had accounts at Facebook and MySpace (both personal and for my...er...musical project) and more recently, Twitter. As a Twitter user, I've seen that other bloggers had some cool things going on, like posting a tweet whenever a new blog post was made. That seemed like a great feature, so I figured that I should do the same. The problem was that I was manually posting tweets, which means that I was working more than other bloggers to accomplish the same thing...and that sucks. Not to mention that since I've finally figured out how to time stamp my posts (so that something gets blogged when I'm on the road with my job), I wasn't able to send a 'new post' tweet when things got posted.
And that's when I started to look for a plug-in that would do the job for me. I think I've found one that should do the trick.
Twitter Tools is a great plugin made by Alex King which can help integrate Twitter functionality into your blog...or something. Forgive my crappy sales pitch, I'm fighting off a cold...yeah, like that's an excuse...heh.
Anyway, Twitter Tools (which can be downloaded here) lets me post tweets whenever a new post is eh, posted. I can also post tweets from my blog (while working on it...heh), feature my latests tweets on my home page, and even automatically make a blog post out of compiled tweets. I'm probably forgetting some other features of this tool, so you should just give the thing a try.
I'm not an SEO genius, and I usually ignore blog tweaks and stuff that sound complicated. I tend to like the 'quick and dirty' methods for things (which is no substitue for hard work). But hey, I'm not about following every single blogging rule...
So go check out Twitter Tools and get your blog twitterpated. Or something.

Should I Join Twitter?
I have been seeing a ton of bloggers making the mad dash to join twitter lately. Why? Does it really help bring traffic to your blog? What's the benefit of actually joining a community of 'micro-bloggers', other than to know what everyone is doing/thinking right, uh, now.
I'm thinking about checking it out, just to see if it is as good as they say it is. I welcome any arguments for or against it, as always.
I need to also work on a new post detailing my PROVEN ways to make cash (not to make you rich, but to put something in your pocket in a very short amount of time).
Leave your comments, please.

The Social Millionaire: Can It Be Done?
Pat Hankinson, the man behind the site thesocialmillionaire.com, has an idea...a big idea. An idea so big, it makes some people question it.
So what is this idea?
Pat sells keywords on his site. These keywords are then linked to the buyer's website. The catch? His site is really only promoted (as far as I can gather) on social networking sites.
The concept sounds pretty good, considering the popularity of social networks, such as MySpace, Entrecard, and Twitter. But the question still remains as to whether this is a good idea or not. Naturally, a project of this type is going to have both supporters and those who question. For example, John Chow.
Promoting The Social Millionaire on the various social networks seems like a solid idea, but I don’t think that it’ll be enough for Pat to rake in seven figures. I encourage him to prove me wrong though! -- JohnChow.com 3/14
John also pointed out that with keywords selling for as little as $1.00 each, it might be slow-going at best.
On the other hand, word-of-mouth has its advantages. In just one day (after the post on Mr. Chow's blog), Pat's sales have gone from $213.61 to $1,005.08. That's a pretty staggering amount of change for just one day.
My prediction, while not nearly as 'valid' as John Chow's, is that Mr. Hankinson will make a nice fat paycheck when it is all said and done. Social networking or not, word of mouth might just push this idea right to the finish line.
Why didn't I think of that?
