Have you ever wondered what affiliate network does MyPoints use? I sure have.
I love MyPoints. I really do. I’ve been a member of that site since way back in the day. I remember when they used to send out free CD’s (which is how I ended up with my Nerf Herder cd…if you haven’t heard it, shame on you).
As an affiliate marketing wannabe, I can recognize that MyPoints uses the same system that we do at least to some extent. They build a huge membership/mailing list, then they send promotions to the members. The offers are often sent with incentives to click them (usually 5 points), which add up and you can trade them in for cool things…I usually go for the Amazon gift cards.
So where do they get these offers to promote?
MyPoints gets their offers from the same affiliate networks that we do.
I knew that the offers looked familiar…I had seen a few of them in some of the networks that I use. But today I got my confirmation.
I checked my email and clicked the MyPoints link as usual…but this time there was a delay between the redirect and ending up on the offer page.
I thought it was a good idea to edit some of that out…just seemed like the more ethical thing to do.
As you can see, for this particular ad they are using ShareASale. I don’t really need to go into any further detail about this.
In addition to ShareASale, I have also found that MyPoints uses ads from Logical Media and NeverBlue Ads as well.
There’s really not a point to this post, just thought this was cool and wanted to share. It’s interesting to know that those of us who are small time affiliate marketers really are swimming in a pool full of bigger fish. Fight hard. Make money.
