A day in the life of an affilate marketer…

Welcome back! Have you joined my mailing list yet?

Ok, I know I’m two weeks behind schedule with this, but I’m posting it anyway.

In lieu of making ‘resolutions’  this year, I have simply set two goals for myself. What’s the difference between a goal and a resolution? It’s simple, really. Goals were meant to be reached while resolutions, well, do you know ANYONE that keeps theirs up throughout the year?

My goals for 2008, in no particular order are:

  • Earn $500.00 online.
  • Lose 25 pounds.

That’s it. Just two. The reason for that is to keep my hopes up, and not to set myself up for a big let-down.

The first, earning $500.00 should be fairly simple. I’m already off to a decent start with that. I’ve been paid $10.00 so far, and am still waiting on about $56.00 in payments (which should be spaced out over the next two weeks). Not to mention that I have some film for sale on eBay, and I’m hoping that it actually sells. APS film, anyone?

I’ve started to take the blogging thing seriously, and have even begun tracking my expenses and payments received.

Oh, and I purchased a domain name last night, so be prepared for a URL change soon.

As for the second goal, losing 25 pounds, that may be more difficult. I’ve never had any luck losing weight (except with the help of ephedrine-based supplements, the lot of which have been banned, as have all dietary supplements regardless of chemical composition, by my wife). I get lots of exercise at work (too much, really) and I don’t really eat that much during the day, but I still can’t get the weight to drop. Who knows? Perhaps this will be the year!

That’s it. That’s all I have for now. Stay tuned for that domain change!

I’ve completed (almost completely) my move to my new house, which is very nice!

I’ve also removed some ‘offending’ content from my site so I don’t have to have this blog terminated by the wordpress bunch.

It seems that in order to do paid postings, y0u must pay for their VIP service, which is $300 per month.

Wow.  I just don’t have that kind of cash, and probably won’t have it if I can’t make money online that way…I suppose I’ll have to find an alternative.

Here’s another way that you can make money with your blog!

Bloggerwave is a company that pays bloggers to do product/service reviews, and also lets webmasters purchase reviews of their products or services from other bloggers on the net.

Their website can be found at:

http://www.bloggerwave.com

I’ve signed up with them to help earn cash to make this blog better. It’s definitely worth checking out!

As you all know (if you read this site), I like to try to find new ways to make money on the internet. I’ve considered many options, and I wanted to pass on some information about one of the choices I have made.

PayPerPost is a site that basically sells blog reviews. What does this mean to you? Well, if you are a wannabe uber-blogger like yours truly, it means they pay you to write reviews for their paying customers (thereby generating buzz and traffic – which, as we know, is a good thing).

One feature that strikes me as cool is their “Blogger Dashboard”, which gives you a display of your posts that have been approved and rejected, how much you have been/will be paid, and other featured offers you can take them up on.

Oh, and there’s a nifty ‘give to charity’ feature as well, if you are so inclined.

As far as their payment schedule, here is a snippet from their FAQ regarding how their payment schedule works:

Once your post is approved, our system sends it back to the Review team for a second round check 30 days after the original submit date. If the post is still live, and unchanged, it will be approved again and you will receive payment via PayPal.

I look forward to doing business with PayPerPost on a regular basis. Their site is easy to use, and they have a fairly good reputation (according to the things I have read). Check them out!

Web Woes

Oct 30

It seems my themes site is also being redirected, much like the original version of TSP.  Free hosting seems to be more trouble than it is worth.

The problem is that I don’t have the spare cash to get some decent hosting.

I don’t want to have to put up a donations link somewhere, so I suppose I should just figure out how to get enough cash to 1) get a real domain name and 2) get some real hosting.

I’ve used nothing but free hosting (for myself) in the past, and I’d like to move past that (because, darn it, I want to make money blogging).

If anyone has any suggestions of a way to get some serious hosting for free (not cheap, that requires money) please let me know.

Argh!
