Making a Trade
Jun 8, 2008 Jobs
I’m excited! Tomorrow evening I will begin my new job. I hope that this one will work out better than the one I just left. I really am excited about getting back into an 18-wheeler and driving back into the oilfield.
Of course, there is a small trade-off involved in starting this new job.
I won’t be driving the company truck to work…instead I will be driving about 35 miles one way. That’s right - I will be forced to pay for fuel again. Of course, a stable pay rate and a decent amount of overtime is worth it to me.
The fact is, I will make more money at the new job. I will be starting on the night shift, which I don’t mind at all…it gets hot during the day!
All things considered, this could be a good thing.
