I spend a lot of time sitting around thinking about ways to raise my income. I’ve been blogging and doing freelance writing in addition to my regular job for the past six years now, and it’s been a great thing.
One of the questions that I run into when I’m talking to people about what I do is “is it possible to make money working from home?”
It is VERY possible to make money working from home. In fact, if you put in the effort, I would argue that it’s hard NOT to make money.
I wanted to go over a few of the things that I do and talk a little bit about how difficult it is to get started doing these things.
It is surprisingly easy to start making money as an affiliate. Really all you need is an account with a good affiliate marketing company like Logical Media (which is still my favorite affiliate network). Of course, being accepted into these networks requires that you demonstrate that you have a way to promote the ads, so having a blog will help you get approved (you do have a blog, right?).
Almost every affiliate network I have seen requires that you earn a minimum amount before they send you a check. If you have a way to promote your ads, this shouldn’t be a huge problem though.
Can you write a blog post? What about sales copy? If you said yes to either of these, then you can make extra money doing freelance writing.
There are lots of sites on the internet where you can look for writing gigs. I like to look through the Digital Point forums — I have made a pretty decent chunk of change from this forum.
Sometimes the payouts are low. But once in a while you can find a blog to write for and that can get you a decent amount of cash.
If you have a garage or closet full of crap that you haven’t used in the last three years, it’s about time to have a yard sale. If that is too much work, you can always list your items for sale on eBay, Amazon, or Craigslist.
Much like affiliate marketing, network marketing basically sets you up as an affiliate for a company. The main idea behind network marketing isn’t to sell products, but to recruit new affiliates.
If you’ve dabbled in online marketing, you should be no stranger to this concept. The best way to build residual income is to build an active downline. That works in both online and offline marketing.
There are sites that can help you find a good network marketing company. Check out Npros.com…they have some useful information.
