Just a little while ago, I was playing around with my Twitter profile and I was trying to figure out a way to boost the number of Twitter followers that I had.
I had been lingering in the 400-user range for a while, and it was time to change that.
So, I managed to get over 100 new followers in less than two hours. Would you like to know how I did this? I bet you would...
It was very easy. You see, Twitter makes it painfully easy to follow tons of people. So what I did was pull up the list of people being followed by @JohnChow and just followed them. ALL of them.
Each page has 20 users, and it only takes a couple of seconds to click 'follow' on them all. For some reason, Twitter users are very quick to follow people.
One thing about this technique: you may want to keep the people who's follows you hijack in your own niche. That way, you may get relevant tweets, rather than the random strange crap that you may expect from someone like me.
Anyway, the more people you follow, the more will follow you back. After a while, you can use Twitter Karma or whatever to go back and unfollow those who are not following you.
Have fun! And go follow me on Twitter!
