Dressing Up and Stepping Out

It’s that time of year again. The last leg of the annual dieting race, where those months of counting calories and watching carbs gets totally nullified by the painfully large amount of food that is present at all of those upcoming family gatherings and office parties. Oh, and Halloween too…
Halloween is kind of a big deal around my house. I usually end up missing out because of my retarded work schedule and end up just looking at pictures of the kids in their costumes and finding random pieces of the crappy candy that nobody wanted in my lunch. Hmm…
I’m hoping that this year I can dress up too, which is something I haven’t done in years. Usually the closest thing I’ve come to dressing up would be making up some type of costume that involves dressing normally.
“Yep, that’s right. I’m a nerd/hacker/affiliate marketer/other generic excuse for not having a costume.”
I’ve often thought that it would be cool to go out as Homestar Runner just to see how many people would get it. I’ve been looking online for Halloween costume stores, and managed to find some pretty good ideas for dressing up, even some that have Christmas Costumes, which is a foreign idea to me, but nevertheless a great idea.
I mean, really, who wouldn’t love to show up at the kids Christmas play dressed as Freddie Kruger?
I’m going to have to put some major thought into this. Odds are I will probably just dress as a truck driver (again, another generic costume that I can wear to work. Yay).
