Why are all of the real crazy people from California?
Welcome back! Have you joined my mailing list yet?
I've always wondered what it is about California that causes people to be just plain crazy and/or stupid. Yes, I know, there are exceptions. But based on what I have seen personally, most of them are just total wackos.
Case in point: this is one of the funniest tech calls I have ever heard. Listen. Laugh. Laugh some more. I wonder how Leo Laporte kept his decorum through this call...I would have just laughed...and been far more blunt.

Beastie Boys Rapper MCA Diagnosed With Throat Cancer
This is a bit out of sync with the normal type of posts on my blog, but MCA from the group Beastie Boys has announced on YouTube that he has been diagnosed with cancer of the throat.
Here's the video:
Breaking news? Yes. Linkbait? Perhaps...

TweetDeck and the Learning Curve of Doom
I've been constantly hearing bloggers saying (or rather, typing) how great TweetDeck was for keeping track of their Twitter friends without having to wade through the thousands of other miscellaneous tweets to find them. Of course, this means that there are most likely other advantages to using this tool, so I figured that I would give it a try.
Of course, that meant that I would most likely be lost in a new program without any way to actually figure out how the extended features (those that are beyond Twitter) worked. And for me, that's usually the fastest way to kill my interest in a program.
After a full second of searching, I managed to find this useful tutorial that helped me figure out just what in the crap I was looking at on my screen.
Awesome. I now know how to use TweetDeck. Of course, it tends to suck the RAM out of my system (even more than Twhirl) to the point where it can cause serious lag. Hey, some of us can't afford a nice system with loads of memory. I'm lucky I've got this 512mb in this box!
Anyway, if you are looking for some more information or a good tutorial on using TweetDeck, this video should answer some of your questions.

Happy Halloween!
Now, you kids, all of you...calm down. That's it, ok, everyone in your own seats...that's good. OK?
Sing along if you know the words. And yes, we all know that EVERYBODY knows the words, so denying it is worthless. After all...it's just a jump to the left...
