Some Interesting Articles

Every now and then I like to give out a little bit of ‘link love’ (which is a strange term, in my opinion) to some of the other blogs I check out so that my readers can have a chance to get inside my mind, so to speak, and see what it is that keeps me interested in all of this ‘web’ stuff.

Today’s lucky winners are:

How I Paid Zero Dollars Out of Pocket at CVS in June - Because saving money is a good thing!

How to Get My Wife or Husband to Follow a Budget - Yeah, right…

The First Steps Away From Paycheck-to-Paycheck Living - Good ideas for those who may want to tell the boss exactly what he can do with a lifetime supply of chocolate!

Sure, they aren’t articles that came out ‘today’, but usually when I see something that stands out in my mind, I copy them into Notepad and link them eventually.

Blogroll Update

I’ve just added Gather Little By Little to my permanent blogroll. It’s a site that discusses ways to save money, increase income, and how to do it responsibly.

From their latest guest post, Whatever Happened to ‘No Other Gods’?:

And not only have we replaced our gods with money and money movers; we also traded our heroes for the same. We, the little people, no longer need Heracles to fight for us since we have Capital One in our wallets protecting us from the Nordic raiders. When the bi-weekly salary harvest falls short, we can always call upon the gods of plastic to pay for our addictions of choice. We chase money and debt like they’re our best friends while ignoring what really matters.

The post was a guest post by That One Caveman, which I just realized. Nonetheless, it’s an excellent post that’s worthy of getting the site a permanent blogroll link. Excellent job!

X-List bloggers need exposure, too!

I was thinking of a way to drive more traffic to my site, and I have been reading on several different blogs that a (somewhat) decent method to get attention is to interview bloggers.

The only problem is I’m not any kind of interviewer or anything. I just blog about dumb stuff. Why would an A-list blogger waste their time letting me ask random questions?

So I propose this - if you want to get some exposure for your unknown (or semi-unknown) blog, and don’t mind fielding a barrage of silly questions from someone on a sugar/caffeine rampage, then drop me a line below. If you are special (and we know that you are), I will do a quick interview with you for posting on this site, as well as your own. Heck, you can post it wherever you like. Linkage galore…or epic fail.

Fire away! Or you can interview me if you like. I’m boring. But let’s face it…we can be the A-list of the future via a stupid idea like this!

1001 Bloggers Needed!

I received this comment on my Less Is More post:

Would you be kind enough to consider taking part in the 1001 Bloggers page which is at http://mencap.wordpress.com

We have just started, and we have about 30 links in place at present, leaving just 970 to go. I hope you will feel able to take a look.

I picked your blog because of the ‘blogging’ tag on your recent post, via the wordpress homepage.

If you have any queries about the 1001 Bloggers page, or if you just want to check this isn’t spam, please feel free to email me at davidtheheads.co.uk

Kind regards

David

Mencap is a UK charity that helps to fund learning disability research (I could be wrong on that, I didn’t check too deep into it).

The 1001 Bloggers project is to raise money for this charity. There are 1001 squares where you can have your avatar featured (which links to your blog) at the cost of about $10 U.S. They still need about 972 bloggers to reach their goal (at the time of this posting).

Due to circumstances at home, I cannot donate right now, but perhaps you can! Not only do you get more traffic for your blog (which is right up your alley if you write about learning disabilities), but you help a good cause.

Check it out! Tell ‘em The Sugarbuzz Project sent ya!
