Free Stuff from Market Leverage

Welcome back! Have you joined my mailing list yet?

Forgive me for not having pictures, I'll have to work on that.

Oh, right...the beginning! Well, a few weeks ago I was playing around on Twitter checking out one of the folks who work for Market Leverage, one of the most awesome affiliate markets I've worked with. Long story short, there was a contest, and if you were follower number (whatever, can't remember off hand), you would win a sweet shirt.

Well, I won the contest. This week I was running around in my big rig, so I wasn't here when the package came. But when I got home...wow.

Not only was the shirt awesome (a very nice polo-type shirt made by Nike), but there was also a cool Market Leverage bag, a coffee cup (I was needing a new one), and a liquid proof roll-up keyboard (which my wife refers to as 'squishy')! I was definitely blown away by the bonus swag that came with the shirt! Nothing like free stuff to make your day, right?

Thank you, Market Leverage! On that note, if you haven't joined ML yet, why not? Not only do they provide excellent service to their affiliates, but they also dish out some pretty freaking awesome swag!

Dropbox: Sync and Backup Your Files! Free!

I just finished upgrading my computer from XP Home to XP Pro. Nice huh? Not really, because it wasn't something that I chose to do. Let's give a big had to people who write worms, huh? The system went from working fine to not even booting into safe mode in all of 30 minutes. To top it off, I couldn't even get remove the virus using Ubuntu Linux (which I normally can do), thanks to the hard drive being read only! To make a long story short, I ended up reinstalling the OS. It's just too bad for me that I didn't find out about Dropbox sooner.

Dropbox is a desktop application (Windows/Mac) that allows you to synchronize all of your important files between your different systems by simply dropping them into a folder. In addition, the free account will give you up to 2gb storage (you can get more storage space by upgrading to a paid account).

If I would have known about this before, I would have saved a lot of files that I didn't need to lose.

One other cool feature of Dropbox is that it has a public folder where you can add your files, right click and get a public URL for that file (great for sharing your data with other team members). Now that's a cool feature.

SwagBucks: How I Get Free Amazon Gift Cards

Free things are always good, in my opinion. Especially if they are free things that are actually useful.

I wanted to pass this along to my readers. In the past, I had been an avid user of MySearchFriends. Well, more or less. I never did hit payout (which was 50 euros), and eventually I just gave up. Partially because I felt that even if I did make it to the payout threshold, I had my doubts as to whether or not they would actually fork over the cash (after reading quite a few negative reviews on the net about them).

I haven't totally abandoned hope on them, but I have found a program that works faster and easier. And frankly, since I've already claimed (and spent) one prize from them, I can safely say they are worth a look.

SwagBucks essentially rewards users for searching through their service. You can do this a couple of different ways (either their web portal or via their FireFox search integration - which I prefer). The way it works is when you search, you are rewarded with SwagBucks, which can be traded in for prizes of varying value, all the way from things like single baseball cards up to guitars and other high-dollar prizes. Just a note, you don't get them for every search that you make. It is rather random, but still steady. I would say that I earn at least one for every ten searches or so. Once, I even got a 20 SwagBucks reward. That was pretty awesome, especially since that one search was almost half of what I needed to cash in on the Amazon gift card.

My first prize was a $5 gift card from Amazon.com (which I immediately blew on a DVD - America: Freedom to Fascism). This prize requires 45 swag points, which, if you search every day, will come rather quickly.

You definitely should check out SwagBucks. It is a great way to add free money to your Amazon account.

Feed It Forward: Free $10 Restaurant.com Gift Card

What's the catch? It's for your friends. And you can give up to three per day. Cool, huh? Makes taking care of Christmas shopping for that crazy aunt easier...

Don't worry, if your friends are really friends, they'll send you one as well.

All you have to do is go to the Feed it Forward site and sign up (yes, it's free), enter three names (and email addresses) and Restaurant.com does the rest.

Happy holidays!
