An affiliate marketing business can be a lucrative business if you have a site that contains the right information and can make business connections with the right merchants, the right content on your website is what will attract traffic.

Thanks for a very informative article. I heard of AdSense but never quite knew how to incorporate it into what I am doing. Especially as my site does not generate thousands of visitors a day (not yet anyway!). I am taking your comments on board and will work on expanding to multiple sites and building up revenue with AdSense. Thanks again!

Affiliate Marketing can be so many things, but the basic concept is pure and simple. If you do not know how to design websites or create products, internet affiliate marketing is the way to go. You are assigned a link to your very own identifiable site, where if a customer makes a purchase, you get a fair commission of the sale; usually 50% or more, depending on the terms of the affiliate agreement. Most systems are set up to send payment to your paypal account, which automatically sends out your commission securely. Unless the owner of the affiliate program works for the CIA, it is very unlikely he has the technical skill to steal your commissions. But never say never, you should be selective about what you join. Some people ARE that smart and have no misgivings about stealing your time & money. Whereas some other programs aren't even worth joining. Lot's of fluff, no bang. Of course some people will buy ANYTHING, but the product you sell should be worth the money people spend on it. Why? Because repeat customers can often make up over 40% of the commissions earned by an affiliate. It's so very important to make a good impression and to have a good product, that you know YOU can trust. That way you'll stick with it when you get to that place where the rubber meets the road.
